Bharati Krishna Tirtha was the Sankaracharya of the Govardhan Math, Puri, from 1925 to 1960 AD. He is most noted for, first, as being the inventor of and author of Vedic Mathematics, a highly controversial set of strategies for mental calculation.

Born in March 1884, his parents named him as Venkatraman. During his school days Sri Venkat raman was extraordinarily bright young man.

Masterfully excelling over his peers in almost all academic areas. At the early age of fifteen he was awarded the title Saraswathi by Madras Sanskrit Association in 1899 because of his proficiency in Sanskrit. In 1902 he won the highest place in the graduation B.A. examination.

Vedic Mathematics is a collection of Techniques/Sutras to solve mathematical arithmetic in easy and faster way. It consists of 16 Sutras (Formulae) and 13 sub-sutras (Sub Formulae) which can be used for problems involved in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, conics.

Veda is a Sanskrit word, means ‘Knowledge’.

Using regular mathematical steps, solving problems sometimes are complex and time consuming. But using Vedic Mathematic’s General Techniques (applicable to all sets of given data) and Specific Techniques (applicable to specific sets of given data), numerical calculations can be done very fast.

Another major contributor to the difficulty of mathematics is lack of innovation in conventional system of teaching. The conventional system of teaching makes mathematics a dud and boring subject. Students are unable to visualize the concept taught by the teacher. Therefore, their interest level goes down. Hence they start developing a disassociation with the subject. If this disassociation continues for a longer period of time child starts hating mathematics. This phenomenon of Math fear is growing everyday and now central board has also recognized this problem. Through their circular they have asked the schools to create an environment where child takes interest in Mathematics.
